Nike had a problem: a series of spots they had done weren’t working, and they needed new ones quickly.

To get the new spots done quickly and done right Nike contacted Marcus Eriksson. Marcus worked with production house Transmission and the effects team at Rival Schools.

Shooting 2000fps on high-speed Phantom cameras created a number of challenges. Rival Schools designed an integrated on-set pipeline that captured shots out of the camera, processed in real-time through Scratch, and then composited on the fly. We collaborated with Marcus every step of the way to make sure we had the shots we needed.

Once selects were made, compositors and motion designers got to work. Putting together the shots in Nuke and After Effects, the Rival Schools post team put the finishing touches on the timing, ensuring the look  was just right.
